Genesis League Sports is a blockchain-based, play-to-earn, gaming system designed for sports-related apps. The first game planned is Genesis League Soccer, in partnership with the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA). Expect more information on this game soon.

This gaming ecosystem will run on the Hive blockchain. Splinterlands has been on Hive for years and the team feels confident in its ability to handle the transaction load. And since Hive offers free transactions, players only have to pay market fees when buying or selling NFTs.

Genesis League Sports Tokenomics

Genesis League Sports (GLS) will feature three tokens, Genesis League Governance Token (GLX), Genesis League Stable Token (GLUSD), and Genesis League Game Time (GLGT). GLUSD will be a stablecoin for the ecosystem, pegged to $1 in regards to in-game purchases. Genesis League Game Time is kind of like VOUCHERS in Splinterlands. Players accumulate GLGT from staking GLX tokens. GLGT tokens will then offer discounts or access to special promotions in future sales and events.

As for the governance token, each GLX token will provide one vote in the DAO organization. Distribution and staking of GLX works just like the SPS token. In fact, SPS stakers will receive an initial airdrop of 100,000,000 (100M) tokens, vested over 12 months. Additional distributions go to those who stake GLX, liquidity providers, validator rewards, the DAO fund, and initial play to earn rewards. However, the bulk of the tokens, 70%, are reserved for future partnerships. Interestingly, the team will put forth proposals for partnerships, which are then voted on via the DAO.

And once the DAO system is live, for a small fee, anyone can submit their own proposals. The vote has to meet a certain minimum percentage of available votes, and pass with the approval rate (exact numbers not yet known).

The DAO replenishes its funds from market and game fees, and whatever other sources the DAO approves.

The GLX airdrop is planned to begin in October of 2022, with DAO staking and governance coming soon after.

Genesis League Sports will support their own validator nodes, with a free license airdrop to those with SPS validator node licenses. These licenses allow anyone to participate in maintaining the ecosystem in return for token rewards. GLS wants to include different game modes for their sports projects. This could include manager games, where players create their NFT lineups and submit them for results. It could also include fantasy and prediction brackets, with the outcomes based on the productivity of the real-life players.

GLS plans to have their own NFT market and rental system. In addition, they want to offer Stadiums and arenas as NFT assets that players can improve and level up.

All the games on the Genesis League Sports system will include play to earn opportunities. This is done via a rewards shares system. This sort of system is being adopted by more blockchain games as a way to spread wealth while also rewarding those who play the most and win the most. Basically, every win during a period (usually a day) earns reward shares. At the end of the day, everyone receives a percentage of the rewards pool based on what percentage of the total reward shares they earned that day. Rewards shares can also sometimes be affected by the types of NFTs used, amount of tokens staked, guild membership, etc.

So, in summary, take all of the features from Splinterlands and put them into games based on real-life sports and you have Genesis League Sports! Sounds pretty good to me!

Olympic Games Jam was just released today and is already available on Google Play. Olympic Games Jam Gameplay

The gameplay is rather easy and explained before each event. But you better practice in the free league to practice before entering the more competitive leagues.

This idea is interesting, because if we all walk around in the metaverse, why shouldn’t we be fan of a character from the metaverse? We socialize there. We have fun there, perhaps work there as well. So it’s not farfetched to be a fan of a digital character as well, especially seeing the rise of Vtubers and digital stars, like Lil Miquela.

In MetaSoccer players, users, can own various assets, ranging from teams and players all the way to stadiums. Within this universe everybody will use the MSU token. This token exists on the Polygon blockchain. Players can create and lead their own teams, generate revenue by playing and being successful. Players can find sponsors for their club, or rent their stadium to others. Managers can invest to train their players, sell them with a profit.

However, players do age and retire. Therefore you will also need youth scouts, also NFT characters. They learn from their experience as well, and can find better talent as they become better at their job.

Roadmap for MetaSoccer

Right now the private sale for MSU is happening, and there will be a presale as well. Furthermore the team will start a private and public presale for youth scouts. In addition there will be a sale for other assets, even though those details are still vague. Most likely they will sell clubs, stadiums etc. They scheduled all this for 2021, but don’t be surprised if something moves to early next year.

In the first half of 2022 MetaSoccer will introduce the first gameplay mechanics. Players will be able to improve their scouts, train football players, and the first matches will take place. Ultimately this needs to result in the first career mode. Down the road there are plans for splitting the roles between managers and club owners, implement 2D match simulation, setting up career tournaments, and launching a DAO. This DAO needs to vote for the betting platform, stadium ticketing and so on.

You don’t have to continually buy new NFTs to keep your team full. While there is going to be a player-to-player market for new players, the Academy within your football club will also generate players each season.
