Another game joins the ever-growing crowd on Immutable X. Cross the Ages, a collectible card game announced the opening of their new marketplace on IMX.

With gas-free NFT trading, Immutable X continues to attract players and game developers. Offering NFTs from over a dozen collections, as well as use of a large number of tokens for payments, the IMX marketplace continues to grow.

This move brings extra exposure for Cross the Ages, as well as providing a way for their players to buy and sell NFT game cards without paying heavy amounts of fees. Cross the Ages is currently in open beta and players can download the game from their website.

Cross the Ages also recently partnered with DeQuest to create a series of quests with potential raffle rewards.

What is Cross The Ages?

Cross the Ages is a collectible NFT card game where players face off in intense turn-based duel matches. Each match lasts about five minutes. The game’s objective is to conquer and control more area of the battle arena than their opponent. Each game, players start with a selection of 20 digital cards. Then, 10 cards are randomly selected to form the player’s deck, and the fight starts. 

Kind of a cross between a collectible card game and the classic game of Go. Players choose creatures to play from their hand onto the board, trying to overpower the opponent’s creatures and flip them. If placed properly, a creature can cause adjacent creatures to flip to the owner’s side. Element affinities for cards have an effect as well, creating room for complex strategies.

The game has a rather unique idea of converting digital cards into physical ones, merging the digital and physical worlds.

Cross the Ages includes three different currencies, Trisel, Prana, and CTA. Trisel is the basic in-game currency. Players earn Trisel by winning matches and can then spend it to buy in-game assets. Prana seems to be just a conversion token to allow for purchase of game chests and cosmetics. Players buy Prana from the game shop.

CTA is the primary token, used for minting NFTs, joining tournaments, and transforming NFTs in physical cards. Players can acquire CTA by converting Prana tokens, or purchasing it directly from external markets.

What is Immutable X?

Immutable X is an Ethereum layer 2 scaling solution for NFTs. Developed as an offshoot from Gods Unchained, when the team realized that high gas fees were a major hindrance to card trading, Immutable X has grown quickly into a significant NFT marketplace. Immutable X has attracted a growing array of projects to its platform. Some notable names include Gods Unchained, Guild of Guardians, Illuvium, and Ember Sword. But it’s not just for gaming NFTs. Immutable X also hosts dozens of other NFT projects.

The platform went live in 2021 and launched its token later that year. There are no gas fees when trading on IMX. In Cross the Ages, players collect unique NFT cards by completing quests. The dystopian fantasy world of Cross the Ages has countless NFTs hidden for the players to find. The project has received investments from major companies such as Ubisoft, Polygon, and Animoca Brands.

Gold, Prana, and CTA Tokens

Before the game economy update, CTA had three currencies Gold, Crystal, and CTA. The developers have officially changed the name of Gold currency to Trisel and Crystal to Prana, as these names resemble the lore of Cross The Ages. All three currencies have specific utilities. 

The Prana is used to acquire off-chain assets such as paid cosmetics or Chests, and Trisel is used for crafting and in-game transformation between assets such as free cosmetics. Finally, the CTA Token is used for on-chain activities such as participating in E-tournaments, minting, and trading.

The only way to get CTA and Prana Tokens is to buy them. Players can also receive them during special events. However, the Trisel cards need not be purchased and can only be acquired by winning chests at the end of a game. The Prana token can be bought in the in-game shop and has a fixed value, whereas the CTA token can be purchased or converted from Prana. The price of the $CTA Token will remain at 0.5$ until listing.

The CTA Token Pre-sale Event

The CTA Token Presale will start on September 23, 2022, during the release of the early access of Cross The Ages: TCG. The pre-sale event will be reserved for players having pre-sale packs. Owners of pre-sale packs will be able to buy chests containing CTA tokens at a discounted price. There will be chests containing different amounts of CTA Tokens, such as 100, 250, 500, and 1000. Players would be able to receive a discount on only one of the chests.

The CTA Token unit price is kept at 0.13$, and the discount will be 0.50$. The CTA Token pre-sale packs have been divided based on quantity, token airdrop, and the best chest to apply the discount. 

The Standard, Apprentice, Disciple, and Primus packs have 2000, 10605, 2031, and 4884 tokens, respectively. The best chests to apply discounts for the above packs will be 0, 500, 500, and 1000 CTA Tokens, respectively. 

According to the buying limit of CTA Tokens, players can buy as many tokens as they want, but there is a cap determined by the pre-sale packs opened. For example, a Primus pack has a cap of 1500 CTA Tokens, while the Apprentice and Disciple packs have a cap of 600 and 750 CTA Tokens.

How will physical and digital cards be distributed and traded?

For distributing physical cards, Cross The Ages has partnered with Cardmarket – The biggest marketplace for physical cards. Each and every card will have NFC to protect it from counterfeit. The NFC ensures authenticity, provides the history of the asset through transparent traceability and guarantees the person in possession of the card is the rightful owner.

The digital cards will be minted and traded on marketplaces such as OpenSea as well as the internal marketplace. The internal marketplace will charge limited gas fees as the game is built on Polygon blockchain.

Cross The Ages Tokens

CTA Token: CTA Token is a utility token required for on-chain activities in Cross The Ages. It also gives special access to tournaments, exclusive content, and valuable NFTs in the CTA universe. CTA tokens are required to mint and merge NFTs and print NFTs into physical NFT cards. The holders of CTA tokens also have voting power in the CTA metaverse. The tokens are required to participate in Guild tournaments and competitions.

Gold Token: The Gold token is an in-game token and “soft currency.” The Gold token allows merging in-game digital cards and is “off-chain,” hence not tradable.

Crystal Token: Crystal tokens are also “soft currency” and can be earned inside the game. Crystals are used for buying card packs, skins, unlocking booster packs, and minting cards. Crystals can be exchanged with CTA tokens at the game marketplace.

The Team behind Cross The Ages

More than 170 people from different fields ranging from management, technology, and design are engaged in building the Cross The Ages platform. CTA partnered with more than 60 illustrators worldwide who are excellent in their fields to develop this stunning universe. There are also 14 writers and script doctors who helped in the required fields.

There are 75 international artists on the team who have worked on Star Wars, Marvel, Game of Thrones, and DC comics. Sami Chlagou is the CEO and Co-founder of the game, and Christophe de Courson is the Chairman and Co-Founder.

About TCG Runner Game

The Cross The Ages developer team has announced a mini-game inside the Cross The Ages universe called the “TCG Runner” game. TCG Runner is a pixel art runner game where you play as an in-game character with a motive to jump and avoid obstacles to earn bonuses.

TCG Runner is an infinite pixel art runner game like the “Temple Run” or “Subway Surfer” games and comes with seven characters from the Cross The Ages universe. It is both tough and fascinating. There are a total of 7 characters in the game, and these characters have elemental affinity: fire, water, nature, light, air, and darkness. The game has no end, but the difficulty increases as playtime increases. The game also ends instantly if you are unable to overcome an obstacle.

Cross The Ages developers have released only the Stage 1 gameplay at the moment. Stage 2 and 3 gameplay features will be released soon. A player must first select a character from a set of 7 available characters. The game has a top view, and the character will be at the bottom of the screen. The score and gauge will be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen, and the distance traveled will be displayed in the upper right corner. A player needs to avoid all obstacles and collect bonuses in this never-ending game. The longer you survive, the more bonuses you can collect.

What is Cross The Ages?

Cross The Ages is a metaverse where digital artists, gamers, and developers build new cities and create games inside the CTA universe. Players can earn NFTs through adventures and can also earn real-world collectibles. The Cross The Ages universe has two worlds that share the single continent of Artellium. The Arkhante continent is to the west and city-continent Mantris to the east. Cross The Ages can be thought of more precisely as a dystopia. The first season will feature 365 cards of Arkhante and Mantris with rarities ranging from Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Exclusive and Unique. The mission of CTA is to allow gamers to earn valuable NFTs, lend the in-game assets, and stake CTA tokens.
