Since their open beta release earlier this year, Chronos has continued to build and expand on their game, adding new game modes, new maps, a mail system, tournaments, new biomes, and more! And their latest release brings the opportunity for players to craft game NFTs!

To craft, players must visit the Shady Merchant in town. There, players can exchange resources they find in-game for various items. The Shady Merchant is capricious though. His inventory is always changing, and he will even offer different options to different players! Rumors have it that owning a Traveler NFT will provide access to exclusive recipes.

Players will also be required to pay a small fee in Gems to craft new items. Gems are the in-game currency. And aside from the need to purchase a few Gems, everything else needed for crafting items is obtained in-game. Active players can even leverage this into a play to earn opportunity as they grind out resources, craft NFTs, and sell them on the markets!

In addition, Chronos is offering an exclusive, free NFT mint for their beta testers. Submit a request ticket on their Discord server with screenshots of your in-game stats and you can receive one of three special items. But this opportunity is only open for a limited time. Submit your ticket before March 12th, 7pm CST!

Chronos: Dawn of Time, brings their multiplayer RPG to open beta, launching on the increasingly popular Elixir platform. Elixir is well on their way to establishing themselves as the Steam of web3 gaming!

To get into Chronos, players will need a beta code. These can be acquired by joining their Discord server and submitting a request ticket.

To help promote the launch, Chronos is holding a special contest. Players can enter by joining the new Ambush mode match. Ambush mode features one to four players fighting in an arena against increasingly difficult waves of enemies. The contest offers a prize of $100. To participate, play Ambush mode, and then post a screenshot of your best result #ambush-challenge section of the Chronos Discord server. You are allowed to make multiple entries if you best your previous top score.

Players don’t need to own any NFTs to play, but bootstrapping yourself up after your initial gear wears out is not an easy process. Finding enough resources to craft is a long process, and the gear wears out quickly. Players can purchase game NFTs on Open Sea (Travelers – Items)

How to play it?

The game is only available on Elixir so far. To play it players will need a Beta key. These Beta keys can be obtained either by minting a Traveler NFT on December 15th or by getting one from an influencer or team member.

After getting the beta key players must create an Elixir account, download the launcher and launch Chronos: The Dawn of Time through it. Before launching the game for the first time players must insert the Beta key.

About the Project

Chronos: The Dawn of Time is an old-school 2D RPG built by a team of five elements. The project is still in its early stages of development and the team still did not invest much in marketing. For now, the focus is to build a fun and engaging game.

When it comes to Chronos as a web3 project it is quite atypical. There are no tokens, only an in-game currency called Aether. This might be good, especially during a bear market. Other games like Skyweaver also do not have a crypto token and their economy works perfectly. But there will be a lot of items that will exist in the form of NFTs. Soon they will sell their first NFT collection, the Travelers. Check their Twitter feed for the latest info.

Chronos: The Dawn of Time has a really fun gameplay. Somehow it reminds me of the old Playstation X games. The game is in 2D and players will have to survive multiple obstacles in every area and also defeat monsters. Monsters drop loot which can be used to upgrade characters. To fight these monsters players can rely on a vast arsenal that goes from swords to machine guns and grenades. Grenades just like other items can be crafted and can make the difference between life and death on the battlefield.

This is a game I recommend for all the arcade and RPG lovers. It is only in Beta but it already reveals a lot of potential as a web3 game.
