Arc8 steps up their play and earn experience with the introduction of a battle pass, and a new league system with daily rewards! Now players can have many chances to play and earn without needing to invest a single cent into the game!

League Play, Streaks, and Battle Pass

Arc8 has done away with the system where players would need to put up tokens in order to compete in matches to earn more tokens. Now everyone plays in a league system that hands out rewards at the end of every day. Players earn trophies by winning matches and rank up to higher leagues as their number of trophies grows.

At the start of each day (1pm UTC), the system places players into leagues of 100 players in the same tier. The top 10% of the players in each league receive Reward Boxes at the end of the day. Higher ranked leagues receive bigger prizes.

Arc8 has also added a new Streak system. Basically, players can earn additional Trophy points by winning multiple games in a row. Players only get three chances per day to run up a streak (four chances if you own a Premium Pass). After that, they can play ‘Training Battles’. Wins from Training Battles still reward the player with Coins. But in order to access those Coins, the app requires you to watch an ad first. Extra Streak attempts can be acquired by using Energy.

Players also earn points towards the battle pass by winning matches – one point per win. Potential rewards from the pass include Coins, Luck, Gems, Energy, and Reward Packs. Luck is used in an in-app raffle system while Gems purchase Rewards Packs and Energy. Energy is used to increase Streak tries, and Coins are used for purchasing additional Luck and entering some tournaments. Players can buy a Premium Battle Pass for $9.99 (payable with credit card or Paypal) which offers an additional set of rewards.

In addition, those who hold an Arc8 League Pass (sale coming at the end of June). will have access to a number of additional rewards, including NFTs from Star Atlas and Hunters On-Chain!

Not much change in the top ranks of the charts this week, though we some trending games in the bottom half of the top 10 with Defit Kingdoms and Arc8. DeFi Kingdoms recently launched their own sub-net and this game on hero questing and mini-games seem to be riding the hype wave.

Arc8 is a collection of competitive mini-games who just started a new season, allowing players to advance in leagues and earn simply by playing. It looks like they have attracted quite a following as well!

Top 10 NFT collections by volume traded

NFTs are in the mainstream news again as an NFT known as ‘The Goose’ sold at a Sotheby’s auction for a cool $6.2 million! This one sale alone would put the collection at number 5 on our top 10 list, but since the sale was an off-chain transaction, it isn’t tracked by DappRadar.

After a brief hiatus from our top NFT collections, Cryptopunks are back in their usual spot near the top of the charts. And Gods Unchained seems to have locked down their spot, steadily pulling in over $5 million worth of trades on a weekly basis!

And though Snoop Dogg’s latest NFTs aren’t on these charts, his continued presence in the web3 world and the continued support from Sotheby’s bode well for the future of mainstream, NFT adoption!

Arc8 League Pass Mint and Utility

The sale for these Arc8 League Pass runs in three phases. The first phase is the Guaranteed Whitelist sale. It’s unclear what it takes to get on the Guaranteed Whitelist roster. But anyway, they will get the first option to buy starting on June27th, 10am UTC and running until 1pm UTC the same day. The Whitelist portion of the sale kicks off immediately afterwards and runs until 10am UTC on June 28th. After that, the public sale opens on June 28th, 3pm UTC, and remains open until July 3rd or the Passes sell out.

Only 555 Passes are available and the cost for the mint is 1900 GMEE tokens (~$15 USD). Purchases are limited to one per wallet for the first two phases, but open game once the public sale begins.

Prizes for Season 0 include $10,000 USD worth of MATIC, USDT, and GMEE tokens, distributed in daily rounds to the top scoring players. Also, everyone who holds the pass and plays at least one game in the first week receives a MATIC-themed G-Bot. G-Bots give owners access to extra games on the Arc8 platform not available to other players.

Other prizes include ten Boomland Genesis Chests (for Hunters Online). The Chests will be handed out via a random draw among all players who played at least 10 games during the first two weeks, and another ten to the top 10 players at the end of the season. All pass purchasers can also claim a free Planet IX starter pack from the Planet IX site after July 18th. In addition, 10 ‘Mystery NFTs’ will go out in a draw from players who played on at least 20 different days during the season. Animoca Brands keeps the action coming with a special tournament for those holding their Mocaverse NFTs. And though the main reward pool goes to Moca owners, holding one or more Realm Ticket NFTs will provide access to a parallel tournament.

Mocaverse and Arc8 Tournament

This event runs for seven days. From April 20th, 1pm UTC until April 27th, 1pm UTC. Players will need to register with both Mocaverse and Arc8. You can read the instructions here.

In addition to the potential for prizes, players earn experience points for their Moca NFT, which will transfer to additional perks later on. Players will need to complete a few practice rounds before they qualify for the tournaments. In addition to the leaderboard points players can also earn GMEE, the ecosystem token for Arc8. All Moca participants receive experience point bonuses for their Mocas. And there are several ways to earn MATIC as well. The top twenty-five players with the highest scores win G-Bots — NFTs for the Arc8 ecosystem that provide access to exclusive combat games. G-Bots can also be upgraded and bred to create new G-Bots!

This event isn’t only for Moca owners though. Holders of Realm Ticket NFTs, the initial raffle ticket used to gain access to the Moca mint, can earn RTM, or Realm Ticket Miles. Realm Ticket Holders will use a different leaderboard, with only RTM points as the payout.

What exactly these RTM points will be used for is still unknown. But seeing as how Tickets currently have a floor price of under $6 USD, while Moca NFTs have a floor of 0.72 ETH, picking up a few tickets may be a more accessible way to get involved in the Mocaverse ecosystem.

In the past 30 days, four games took the lead in terms of new users acquired: Sunflower Land (38.43%), Crazy Defense Heroes (30.42%), Pegaxy (16.31%), and Arc8 (11.37%). These four titles make up 95.63% of the new users on Polygon-based games.

Falling short of 22k daily active users, Sunflower Land is by far the most played games of the chunk. Arc8 has a total of 17k daily players, but is not acquiring new ones fast enough. CDH is a long-lasting Animoca success with 9k daily users, similar to Pegaxy. 

1. Sunflower Land

Sunflower Land is a Play to Own farming simulator, where players gain perks and benefits by watering plants, growing crops, feeding animals, and overall running a proficient farm. The game is part of a new trend shifting away from the term “Play to Earn” for “Play and Earn” and/or “Play to Own”.

The tokenomics features $SFL, currently valued at $0.16, down 15% in the last 24 hours. The token is in a freefall after the recent crypto crash of May 2022.

According to DappRadar, Sunflower Land totalled $160k+ in transactions in the past 30 days, coming from 784k transactions overall, estimating the average value per transaction a little over $0.20. We recently analysed why Sunflower Land is the biggest hit on Polygon here.

2. Crazy Defense Heroes

Crazy Defense Heroes is an RPG-style tower defense game based on collectible cards, chests, and rewards.

Players have to defend the towers, take part in weekly challenges, defeat bosses, and create clans. There are over 400 Towers, spells, and collectible cards with 1000 levels to conquer. 

The game is one of the fastest-growing recently thanks to their Tower Map NFT Rewards. According to Footprint Analytics, the total number of gamers as of the 25th of May is 542,169. The acquisition cohort chart shows a 45% retention in the latest quarter, not an amazing result.

Crazy Defense Heroes features the $TOWER token, currently valued at $0.005, down 8.15% in the last 24 hours and in a downfall trend since the beginning of the year. 

CDH is not doing well financially, but it keeps being one of the most downloaded apps and has the full backing of Animoca Brands, which recently became a unicorn.

3. Pegaxy

Pegaxy is a PvP horse racing simulator which offers several horse races, each with 12 horses running, with the top 3 horses receiving prizes in the game reward token $VIS. 

The horse races are mostly decided on luck, but some other factors such as the horse’s gene and rarity play a role in the calculation. 

The tokenomics features $VIS, to balance the minting cost, breed horses, and manage in-game rewards, and $PGX, the governance token, also used for breeding, and to get involved in the proposal engine.

$PGX is currently valued at $0.03, up 0.48% in the past 24 hours, and $VIS sits at $0.0003, down 1.24% in the same timeframe.

Pegaxy has the highest retention rate of all games on Polygon. According to Footprint, the peak was 77% of new players retained in Q1 2022. 

To keep players’ engagement high, Pegaxy released an annual event: The Big Sprint Championship.

The cup is held once a year, with the first 11 months being the qualifying month. The top 12 players in each of the five levels (renting, marketplace, racing, breeding, and connect) are selected each month, drawing a pool of 660 players per year into the global finals. 

The winner of the final round is rewarded with a large amount of $PGX Token distributed by the Ecosystem Fund.

4. Arc8

Launched in October 2021, Arc8 is GAMEE’s collection of mobile games on the Polygon chain. The platform is host to over 10 minigames, ranging from puzzle games to action movies, and is fairly popular amongst casual gamers on mobile devices.

On each given day, the platform releases daily tournaments for players to get involved in. Some are free, requiring only the in-game points, some require a participation fee, paid out in $GMEE.

During the gameplay, players might win $GMEE for completing quests for free, or may gamble in the daily tournaments to receive a higher amount.

DappRadar reports 1.98M transactions in the past 30 days, down only 0.81% from last month. Arc8 is working hard to keep the number high and attract new players with great incentives through their referral program.
