A new, Alien Worlds associated project rises on WAX. Dubbed, Alien Avatars, this project lets players collect parts, assemble their Avatars, put them up for minting, and earn TLM tokens everytime someone chooses to mint their Avatar!

Slowly but surely, the player run DAO organizations associated with Alien Worlds seem to be finding their footing. One of the sponsored projects recently released their Avatar creation game. Known as Alien Avatars, this project lets players design their own Avatars from various parts, and them make it available for minting, earning a portion of the sale proceeds!

Though not run by the Alien Worlds team, this project provides an additional use case for Trilum tokens and for Alien Worlds Tool NFTs. Which is great for the Alien Worlds ecosystem! You can visit https://alienavatars.io/ for both minting and design

How Does Alien Avatars Work?

Alien Avatars is about creating your own, unique Avatar design and then putting it up on the marketplace for others to mint. Players buy Avatar parts packs from Alien Avatars. These packs are paid for in Trilium token (TLM), the currency for Alien Worlds. Pack prices range from 500 TLM for a small pack to 5,000 TLM for an Ultra Rare pack.

Inside these packs are parts, used to make custom Avatars. Once a user has created and named their Avatar template, they can then put it up on the market by paying a fee of 1,000 TLM tokens. The designer of the template earns 25% of the cost every time their Avatar is minted. The rarity of the Avatar template is based on the average rarity of all the parts used.

Avatar minting prices vary based on rarity, and also on how many times they’ve been purchased. Every mint increases the price of the next mint for that Avatar by 10%. If the Avatar goes unminted for a day, the price will slowly, but steadily decrease until the next purchase. Avatar mints aren’t just for everyone though. In order to mint one of these Avatars, you must hold an Alien Worlds NFT Tool of the same rarity in your wallet!

The price for minting a common Avatar starts at 250 TLM. It ramps up quickly to 1,000 TLM for a rare Avatar, and runs all the way up to 6,250 TLM tokens for a mythical rarity Avatar.

Alien Worlds introduces a new, 3D, Minecraft based experience to their growing universe! Dubbed MineQuest, this new addition allows players to explore all six worlds, build structures, engage in PvP, and complete quests for NFT points.

Though Minecraft wants nothing to do with blockchains and NFTs, the web3 space keeps coming back to Minecraft! The latest integration is with Alien Worlds, on a new feature known as MineQuest.

Players must to own the the Java edition of Minecraft to play MineQuest. Players will also need to login with their WAX wallet and link their Minecraft account at https://minecraft.eosusa.io. The MineQuest server address is minecraft.eosusa.io and players will need to make sure they are using Minecraft version 1.19.2.

Players can join quests and track their progress by logging into https://minecraft.eosusa.io/quests with their WAX wallet. Quests have a limited time that they’re active, and a pool of point rewards to be divided among all participants who complete the quest.

NFT Points are used to purchase various items from the in-game, Alien Worlds store, including tools, weapons, and characters. The available items swap out on a monthly basis. Normally NFT points are only acquired by Mining. But the addition of MineQuest opens up a whole new level of play and earn opportunities in Alien Worlds!

Alien Worlds Awakens

After a long period of very little happening, Alien Worlds has stirred back to life this year. Their biggest addition has been the implementation of Planetary DAOs, or Syndicates. Syndicates have control over a steady flow of TLM tokens, and can decide how to use those tokens to help grow and nurture the Alien Worlds ecosystem

And after a few starting hiccups, the DAO system for Alien Worlds seems to be finding its stride. Recent additions to the ecosystem funded by the Planetary DAOS include Tool2Earn, a landowner utility that makes it easier to manage multiple plots, and Tool Tactician, a page that helps miners find the perfect mining tool selection and plots for their mining needs. Another DAO funded project called Arms World aims to bring utility to the Weapons NFTs for Alien Worlds. The official Alien Worlds blog has updates on the latest happenings with the Syndicates every few weeks.

Alien Worlds has also recently made a number of updates to improve their user experience across the board. This includes bug fixes, improved text descriptions, updated user interface layouts, and more. If you haven’t visited in a while, it’s worth checking out.

What is Alien Worlds?

Alien Worlds is a mining and land ownership game on the WAX blockchain with a growing ecosystem. Players can own land, use tools to mine for Trilium (TLM), the game token, customize their avatars, and send ships on missions to earn TLM and rare NFTs. Players can also earn TLM through mining, and then spend the tokens to upgrade tools and weapons. Earlier this year, Alien Worlds introduced the first phase of Syndicates, a player run, DAO-based, planetary governance system. The DAO members can put forth proposals to help grow and expand the ecosystem and must be voted into office on a regular basis.

To keep up with all of the Syndicate news, check out the Syndicate Underground articles in the Alien Worlds Medium feed.

In a notable cross-chain reach, the Trilum token bridges the Wax, Ethereum, and Binance blockchains, allowing the economies of all three chains to merge into one. Players can transfer TLM tokens back and forth on the networks using the official teleport page.

Not long ago, Alien Worlds dove head-first into their player-run, planetary DAO system. This system allowed players to elect Council members who would be able to put forth proposals for ways to use the planet’s allotment of TLM tokens. However, a couple of bad actors were able to game the system, and walk away with 4M TLM tokens, worth over $100k USD!

The Alien Worlds DAO system is a big feature the team has been hyping for a long time. And after a long wait, they finally pushed it out in Fall of 2022. Things seemed to be proceeding fairly smoothly, with regular elections, proposals, and grants. However, in February of 2023, some bad actors were able to abuse and game the planetary DAO system.

Player run DAO organizations are an ever-growing feature in web3 apps. But most of these DAOs usually have a developer buffer between them and any funds or actual gameplay changes. But not so in Alien Worlds. Each planet has a daily allocation of TLM tokens, that the Planetary Councils can apparently just send to themselves with three out of five votes!

The Steal

You can read a more detailed account about what happened in an investigative article from Cryptomonkeys. Cryptomonkeys are a popular, free NFT group on the WAX blockchain that are involved in Alien Worlds as players. In short, the bad actors were able to stake and vote for Councilors at the last minute, putting three puppet accounts onto the Council. And thus, with a majority out of the five seats, they quickly put forth and passed two proposals. These proposals weren’t even disguised. They just simply transferred millions of TLM tokens to themselves!

They tried to repeat the process on the planet Neri, but with forewarning, some players and groups were able to band together to keep them from being elected. However, as mentioned in the investigative report, if these embezzlers choose to use their stolen funds to leverage more voting power, it is likely that they cannot be stopped from repeating their steal on other planets.

the puppet Council accounts on Kavian

The Aftermath

Alien Worlds response to this incident? They merely shrug and say that the system is working as intended. They also mention that Kavian had built up a rather large storage of unused TLM tokens, and thus put themselves at risk. But this is a deflective, bullshit statement. Very much akin to claiming that a woman was ‘asking for it’ by wearing revealing clothing!

And if the system is setup so that anyone can just come in and throw out last minute votes and successfully elect a previously unknown candidate, then something is probably wrong with the system.

Interestingly, talk of this incident on the AW Discord is nearly non-existent. And the Alien Worlds team doesn’t seem to feel like doing anything at all. And sure, I can understand the philosophy that this is supposed to be a player run and governed feature, so its up the players to figure out solutions. But this is also a big, black eye for the Alien Worlds DAO system. And hopefully a cautionary lesson for other projects setting up their own DAOs!

The next planetary elections happen in just under three days from now, on February 26th. Will Afhe, Biff, and Jose manage to make another steal? They already hold the top three spots on Neri as well as Kavian. If more TLM tokens are embezzled away in this manner, this could have major repercussions and cause players to lose any faith they had in the Alien Worlds and its DAO system.

Alien Worlds has opened up round 2 of their community grants program. These grants are open to proposals from anyone with an idea for improving or expanding on the Alien Worlds ecosystem. The proposals that pass receive a stipend of TLM tokens to help pay for their development..

Alien Worlds introduced their Galactic Hubs grant program in the summer of 2022. One item that came from the first round of grants was the Battledome, a third party game that utilizes Alien Worlds NFTs for PvP battles. Now, applications are open for round two.

Specifically, grants from the Alien Worlds Galactic Hubs program come in two tiers, Development and Pioneer. Development grants go to smaller projects that can deliver their product within a couple of months. These grants can receive up to 500k TLM. Development grants receive payment on completion and review of the project. Pioneer grants are longer term projects with varying pay schedules

The proposals can include anything related to the Alien Worlds universe. Thus, they can be additional tools, infrastructure, stories, artwork, games that use Alien Worlds tokens and NFTs, interfaces, monitoring system, and more! For both types of grants, developers receive guidance from the Alien Worlds team, access to the APIs and documentation, and marketing for the product when it’s finished.

It will be interesting to see what sort of proposals make it through the process. It feels like there is plenty of room for building more tooling and interfaces around the Syndicate system.

Applications remain open until March 31st, 2023. To apply visit https://ghubs.alienworlds.io/.

Catching up with Syndicates

Not long ago Alien Worlds opened the first version of their Syndicate program. This allowed player run governments to develop for each of the six planets. Custodians, or the government for each Planet, are elected by players who stake TLM tokens to that planet.

The Syndicates have been busy so far. Offering up proposals to combat bots, provide NFTs to miners, distribute extra Trilium to miners, cross-functionality with other games, and more. There is even a quest based system in development called Mission Control that partners with other WAX projects.

To keep up with all of the Syndicate news, check out the Syndicate Underground articles in the Alien Worlds Medium feed. You can also get involved by jumping into Discord and discussing and voting on various proposals for your favorite planet!

Alien Worlds releases a new land update giving the community a new landowner experience. Now, the most engaged landowners will be rewarded for their dedication. Besides this, there will be more opportunities for interaction between Landowners and Miners through the new feature: Land Boosts.

Managing land just got way more interactive with the new update. Before, every land plot was getting allocated a determined amount of daily Trillium income. Basically, earning passive income.

But now the whole land dynamic has changed. The Daily Trilium Allocation for each land plot will depend on its rating. This means that not all the land plots will get the same amount of this resource. Now landowners will need to make sure that their land rating is high enough to continue to receive the same TLM income. This is where Boost Slots come in.

Boost Slots and the Landowner’s Dashboard

Now, each land plot will have 15 different slots for Boosts. Boosts increase the land plot’s rating, which will increase the daily $TLM pool allocated to that land plot. Land ratings decay over time, so landowners will need to maintain their rating with these Boosts. Boost slots begin locked, with the exception of the first. For land owners to unlock them they will need to spend $TLM. This will add further utility to Alien World’s token. Unlocking slots is permanent and will mutate the NFT and potentially make it more valuable.

$TLM required for each slot
$TLM required for each slot

Each Boost can then be given to a land plot either by its owner or by a miner. Every boost has a cost in $TLM and will be active for a time period of 25 hours.

Available Boosts
Available Boosts

Boosts are not just a temporary upgrade to a land plot. They are necessary for land owners to stay in business. As I have mentioned before, unlocking slots and boosting land plots increase their rating. But, on the other hand, not boosting land will result in a rating decay of that NFT. This was a smart move from the team to increase the demand for $TLM.

To manage their land plots, landowners have a brand new dashboard. Here, they can see how many slots are already unlocked for that land plot and also which slots have active boosts at that moment.

Land Management Dashboard

To benefit holders who own rarer land plots, the % in the rating that each boost provides is further increased based on land rarity.

About Alien Worlds

Alien Worlds is what is known as a ‘clicker’. It does not surprise me if we consider that it is a WAX project. All players have to do to ‘play’ the game is to select a land plot and click on ‘Mine’. Then they will have to solve a capcha and, after that, they will be rewarded with a small amount of $TLM. If they are lucky they can get an NFT as well. NFTs can be tools or assets to use in the Battledome, which is a game mode that was recently added to the ecosystem.

Land owners set a percentage in their land, which is how much they get of all the $TLM extracted. Now boosts were added to the game, which makes the task of managing land a bit more dynamic. Alien Worlds also recently implemented player-run, DAO-based governance for their planets, which could lead to some interesting things in the future.

Personally, I think Alien Worlds is perfect for players who suffer from chronic insomnia or deep depression. Those who suffer from chronic insomnia will fall a sleep immediately as soon as the first capcha appears. Those with deep depression will get so bored that they will not feel any depressive symptoms for the duration of their gaming session.

Alien Worlds is one of the game’s with most ‘users’ in WAX they say, but the truth is that the project has been crawling with bots since day zero. No one wants to solve a capcha every 5 minutes to get 0.001 cent of a dollar in $TLM. But that is just my opinion.

If you want to know more about the project read our full guide.

At long last, those Weapon and Characters NFTs from Alien Worlds have a use! Players can now send them into the Battledome to fight for honor, glory, and prizes!

The Battledome is live! Send your Minions, Characters, and Weapons into battle and win prizes!

Now, it is important to note that this is not the Thunderdome that Alien Worlds has promised for the past two years. Instead, this is a third party app, developed by a group called Restack.AI. Partially funded by a Galactic Hubs Pioneer Grant from Alien Worlds, Battledome matches feature up to 20 players battling it out with their Alien Worlds NFTs.

The Galactic Hubs Grant Program is a development fund provided by Alien Worlds to help develop projects and initiatives for the Alien Worlds Metaverse. In August 2022, Restack.AI won the first-ever Pioneer Grant from Galactic Hubs in the amount of 500,000 TLM to help develop the Battledome.

a few Alien Worlds NFTs

What is Battledome?

The instructions for the Battledome are a little lacking. Players need an Avatar, a Minion, and a Weapon to join a match. After that they choose battle Orders and select a Planet to represent. Then, the battles resolve automatically. New battles become available every few minutes, so there is always a chance to join in. And each battle has some sort of special effect, though there is no explanation for how that system works.

Players can win Triulium (TLM) tokens, NFTs, and Boosts, tokens that will be used in the upcoming Battledome market. Cards need to be repaired after use in battle for a fee in TLM tokens. Repairing a Common NFT costs 1 TLM, while repairing a Legendary card costs 10 TLM.

setting a lineup in Battledome
setting a lineup in Battledome

So the Battledome game itself isn’t super exciting. But, the realization of a project from the Galactic Hubs Pioneer Grant, and seeing a third party developer create a use case for the Alien Worlds NFTs is kind of a big deal. I look forward to seeing how Battledome expands and whether they can retain ongoing interest in their game. I also look forward to seeing if Alien Worlds can coax other developers to expand their ecosystem, and start truly building the metaverse that they have hoped for from the beginning.

Alien Worlds introduces Syndicates to Alien Worlds — basically, a DAO-based governance system for each of their six planets. With player elected Councils, this update ushers in a new era for Alien Worlds.

We’ve been waiting for this feature for a long time. Alien Worlds introduced Trilium staking for planets, and even encouraged players to begin candidacy for Council positions well over a year ago. But since then, we’ve seen no signs of development in this area. But finally, after teasing it for several days earlier this week, Alien Worlds unveils their DAO-based, planetary governance system known as Syndicates.

The first election period opens on October 20th and will run for two weeks.

And to help get things started, Alien Worlds introduces a limited time contest. This contest includes rewards for the Syndicate with the most collective voting power on November 3rd. Council members for the winning Syndicate each receive a special, Mythic level rarity Avatar NFT. In addition, all members of the winning Syndicate will receive a Character and a Weapon NFT particular to their planet.

Syndicates, Custodians, and Councils

Stake TLM for voting power
Stake TLM for voting power

Each planet elects Custodians who are expected to be responsible for honoring and implementing the decisions made by the voters. To keep a poor Custodian from affecting a Planet too much, elections occur every seven days.

The Custodian council for each planet includes those with the top 5 number of votes. Interested candidates must stake at least 5,000 tokens on a planet to run for Council there and fill out a candidate form on the Alien Worlds site. Players can campaign for Council seats on multiple planets.

Each account’s voting weight is determined by the number of tokens staked to the planet and the length of time those tokens have been locked up. Players may use their full vote power to vote for up to two candidates. They may change their vote at any time. Vote power decreases over time if not used. Everyone with active voting power is considered a member of the appropriate Syndicate.

Council application info
Council application info

Acquiring voting power requires signing a rather lengthy terms of service agreement, and staking TLM tokens to the planet. Players can stake tokens to as many planets as they like.

The Syndicate Councils will be responsible for guiding, managing, and leading their planet. They will have access to the TLM in the planet’s treasury, but to avoid bad actors from draining a Syndicate’s treasury, the tokens will unlock at a rate of 2% per week.

This is a big event for Alien Worlds. And it will be interesting to see what happens next. This system is going to rely on engagement and content creation by the players. And though Alien Worlds does still boast a large number of daily users, we’ll have to see if the player generated content can draw and maintain long-term player interest.

Believing in “a metaverse without restraining walls,” Animoca Brands and other blockchain-based platforms such as Decentraland and The Sandbox have come together to form the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 (OMA3).

The organization proposes to connect multiple virtual worlds and Web3 platforms in a frictionless way. Currently, the blockchain industry faces challenges in interoperability, and OMA3 is excited to make your experience from one platform to another more seamless.

Essentially, the “open metaverse” envisioned by OMA3 will establish a unified set of Web3 standards and infrastructure. This way, you as a user can freely bring your blockchain-based assets, such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), to any virtual world belonging to OMA3. Plus, the alliance wants you to experience this feature in real-time, without needing permission from the platforms you’re using. That would literally mean you’d be the one in control of your digital assets, not the platform owners.

Freely Roaming in an Open Metaverse

“This is exciting!” Voxels lead developer Benjamin Larcher exclaimed about OMA3. “At Voxels we firmly believe in a Metaverse where people can freely move across multiple worlds and platforms, bringing their friends and NFTs with them!”

Voxels, formerly CryptoVoxels, is among the founding members of the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3.

Meanwhile, The Sandbox co-founder and COO, Sebastian Borget, gave an illustration of how the OMA3 standards, after being implemented, could impact user experience.

“For example, we want your Avatar can be more than just a virtual representation and also carries your reputation as anyone can see on-chain which NFTs you hold, earned, created, or bought, the full history of transactions, and as well hopefully, the progression/actions you have contributed to throughout time.”

Based on this statement, OMA3 aims at unifying all your experiences across all blockchain apps. If executed well, this could bring in more new users, as it makes metaverse games more appealing to our not-so-techy but curious friends.

OMA3 is a Consortium-like DAO

True to its vision, OMA3 is also establishing itself as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). This setup will ensure that the alliance will be “transparent and user-centric.” Since it’s open to businesses and financial institutions, the Open Metaverse Alliance will function more like a consortium.

Specifically, OMA3 will operate according to the core principles of transparency, inclusiveness, interoperability, and standardization. Naturally, it will also empower individual users through decentralization and democratization.

On its website, OMA3 highlights the following projects they’re now working on:

  • Interoperability protocols
  • Cross-platform standards (in NFTs, for example)
  • Transferable metaverse identities
  • Definition and promotion of decentralization and ownership rights within the metaverse
  • Mapping, indexing, and wrapping portals between worlds

Open Metaverse Alliance Members

Among the leading blockchain-based platforms joining OMA3 are Animoca Brands, The Sandbox, Decentraland, and Dapper Labs. Meanwhile, Alien Worlds, Star Atlas, and Voxels are also founding members. Embracing the same vision, Decentral Games and MetaMetaverse, along with Space, Superworld, Upland, and Wivity, have signed all signed up. These founding OMA3 members are also inviting other blockchain-based companies to join the alliance.

Zilliqa is a layer-1 smart contract blockchain platform that has announced its partnership with Alien Worlds, one of the most popular play-to-earn blockchain games with over 700K monthly active users. The partnership will help Alien Worlds integrate the Zilliqa blockchain using their Unity Software Development Kit. Other highlights of this partnership include a deal with Zilliqa’s eSports partners to showcase in-game features in Alien Worlds.

The collaboration between blockchain game Alien Worlds and Zilliqa will expand Zilliqa’s portfolio of blockchain games before they launch a brand new NFT game and blockchain platform next year.

About the partnership

Zilliqa launched the Unity SDK in May 2022, accelerating the adoption of the Zilliqa blockchain in games. In addition, it allows games deployed on other protocols to migrate easily. As a part of the partnership, the Zilliqa blockchain will be integrated within Alien Worlds through the Unity SDK. Zilliqa will also provide a platform to showcase the in-game DAOs and PvP features in one place. The company is also building a gaming hub to help players buy, sell and trade in-game items and earn rewards.

“We’ll provide Alien Worlds with technical support to ensure the game is properly integrated with our Unity SDK and gaming hub, in what will be a strong addition to our ecosystem.”

Valentin Cobelea, Head of Gaming Technology

According to the Alien Worlds team, integrating the Zilliqa blockchain will help the game introduce DAO tokens as a part of its game mechanics. In addition, Zilliqa’s eSports partners will also help Alien Worlds bring competitive gaming to blockchain games. These features will help onboard more traditional gamers with the advantage of more exciting P2P gaming in web3 games.

Advantage of Zilliqa’s eSport partners

In March 2022, Zilliqa partnered with three eSports and gaming companies, including Indonesian-based RPQ, Sweden-based Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Spain-based MAD Lions. Being the official blockchain partner of the above eSports companies, Zilliqa will be responsible for implementing web3 solutions, NFT integration, and metaverse features for the eSports brands.

“Our esports partners provide us with access to huge audiences of highly engaged, tech-savvy fans. We’re excited by the prospect of building web3 experiences for these fans and enabling new ways to engage with and support the players and teams they’re passionate about.”

Fleetham, Head of Zilliqa Sporting and Gaming Department.

Alien Worlds will have the opportunity to use Zilliqa’s partners and experience to reach traditional gamers. Players will have the chance to earn more rewards in competitive battles, attracting traditional gamers. As a part of this partnership, Zilliqa’s eSports partners will host an Alien World’s challenge for existing Alien Worlds players and fans.

Players who already play Alien Worlds will have the chance to get early access and in-game rewards for Zilliqa’s game launch. On the other hand, Alien World’s large player base will help Zilliqa gain exposure for the upcoming gaming hub and the upcoming blockchain game. So it’s a win-win situation for both Alien Worlds and Zilliqa.

What is the Zilliqa blockchain?

Zilliqa is a layer-1 high security and low fee distributed blockchain platform that uses a unique technology called sharding. The sharding process splits the blockchain into several interconnected blockchains to carry out transactions. Zilliqa was launched in 2017 by Amrit Kumar and Xinshu Don. The blockchain offers many features such as smart contracts, token issuance, dApps infrastructure, etc. The native token of the Zilliqa blockchain is the Zilliqa coin (ZIL). ZIL is used to pay for transactions on the Zilliqa blockchain. The total supply of ZIL is fixed at 21 billion.

Alien Worlds moves to the next phase of their game-ified defi system on the Binance Chain. Engaging in missions now brings a new set of reward cards. Any missions that were already in progress will continue to reward cards from series one. But from now on, new missions will instead hand out reward cards from the mission two set on completion. In addition, a new system, NFT points, has just been introduced to provide an opportunity for miners to earn NFTs.

Alien Worlds Mission 2 Legendary NFT

Alien Worlds Missions are basically locked staking windows for the Trilium token. To participate, players must have Trilium (TLM) on the BNB Chain (formerly known as the Binance Smart Chain). Players stake TLM for each ship they want to send on a mission. The costs range from 40 TLM to 2000 TLM per ship, depending on the mission rarity. The payout for each mission is a static pool of TLM tokens, divided evenly among all the ships on the mission.

The new reward cards come in four rarities, common, rare, epic, and legendary. Each is associated with the corresponding mission type. Higher rarity missions require locking up TLM for longer periods and have a much larger buy-in rate. For example, legendary missions require 2,000 TLM for each ship and the mission runs for 12 weeks.

And while the artwork is cool, unfortunately, these NFTs have no use case. It seems that Alien Worlds has built a system for generating these cards and is hoping that the community will make use of them somehow. Which would be cool, but as far as I know, no one has bothered to do so (if anyone knows differently, please ping me on the Play to Earn Discord!)

NFT Points

Alien Worlds NFT Points
Redeeem = purchase

Long absent from Alien Worlds, the chance to acquire NFTs while mining has returned. This time in the form of NFT points, Every time a player mines, they accumulate NFT points. The number of points is determined from the NFT power attribute of the land mined and the tools used. The exact formula is: NFT_Points_Per_Mine = Land_NFT_Multiplier * (Tool1_NFT_Power + Tool2_NFT_Power + Tool3_NFT_Power)

To keep the bots from abusing the free shovels given to every new account, tools of Abundant rarity do not count towards NFT mining points. As you accumulate NFT points, they also add to your level points. At each level (up to 10), you get a free, special NFT showing your mining skill. This ranges from the Talisman Pendant for Initiates, all the way up to ‘The Void’ for Oshi Initiate level players. Getting to the final level requires 385,440 points. And since players are reporting between 10 to 30 NFT points per mine, that could take quite a while!

The interface for redeeming points is a little confusing. The free NFT section is on the left and shows your current level progress. On the right is the shop. And though the buttons read ‘Redeem’, what you’re really doing is using your NFT points to purchase those NFTs. Now, as to why someone would want to spend their points to buy a Grey Peacemaker, an NFT that can be acquired for two cents on the market, I can’t really say. But hey, anything to breathe some life back into Alien Worlds is good to see. Hopefully this is just the beginning!

Note: The system / website / wax network / whatever seems to be laggy. I had to refresh my page after every mining attempt to see the updated points.

What is Alien Worlds?

Alien Worlds is an exploration and mining game in which players can own land, use tools to mine for Trilium (TLM), the game token, customize their avatars, and send ships on missions to earn TLM and rare NFTs. Players earn TLM through mining, and can spend the tokens to upgrade tools and weapons. Landowners can also airdrop their own custom NFTs to players.

In a notable cross-chain effort, Trilum bridges the Wax, Ethereum, and Binance blockchains, allowing the economies of all three chains to merge into one. Players can transfer back and forth on the networks using the official teleport page.
