Nova Rally is currently a web-based racing game with no visuals. But that should change in the near future, as the team has been hard at work preparing generative, 3D races that should be fun to watch as well as participate in, even though participation is passive. But what’s even more fun than watching an entertaining race? How about owning a part of the race track, and earning income when exciting things happen in your section?

Well if that interests you, soon you will have a chance to make your first investment. The first 550 track segments go up for sale on October 7th, 8pm UTC. They will be for sale in the official Nova Rally Store for 45 million SNAKEOIL each. Once this initial offering sells out, additional sales utilizing CHARM and SCRAP tokens as currency will open.

Each track in Nova Rally is split into 100 pieces or segments. The team plans to build 10 tracks, so 10,000 track segments in all.

The game can track pretty much everything that happens on each segment of track during a race. And the reason for this is to give rewards in the form of CHARM tokens to track owners when something interesting happens on a segment they own. This can be crashes, passes, lead changes, etc.

Tracks are not live yet unfortunately, so owners won’t be able to open their packs for a while. This system should kick into gear after 3D races are released and tweaked.

What is Nova Rally?

Nova Rally is a sci-fi, passive racing game, built on the WAX blockchain. In it, players field teams are made up of one Car and two Drivers. The teams compete in races, earning CHARM tokens based on how well they place.

Players need fuel to race, in the form of SNAKEOIL. Players earn SNAKEOIL simply by owning Nova Rally NFTs. Cars and Drivers earn experience as they race and can rank up to Intermediate, Veteran, and Master levels. Each rank produces a new type of fuel, which is needed to race NFTs of that rank. IE, racing a Master level Car requires using SNAKEVENOM, which is only generated by owning Master level NFTs. Honestly, the multi-tiered fuel system feels needlessly complex, but basically, unless you want to purchase the fuel you need to race, you’ll want to have a stable of Cars and Drivers.

Ranking NFTs up requires burning three of the same NFT, creating a deflationary system for the existing NFTs. Higher-ranked races pay out more in prizes.

Nova Rally also features a Death Rally race option. Contestants who enter this will likely die (the bottom 95% of the racers have their Driver NFTs burned!), but the winner receives a special trophy as well as a Driver’s Manual, which lets players rank up their Drivers and Cars without having to burn extra NFTs in the process.

The game is pretty basic at the moment, but the Nova Rally has big plans for 3D races, customizations, upgrades, weapons, team ownership, tournaments, a rental system, and more!

Released in Q4 of 2021, Nova Rally is a somewhat basic, fantastical, sci-fi racing game. In it, players choose a Car and two Drivers, submit their lineup to the race, and then await the results. And though you can choose to use a Boost NFT, for potentially better results (or sometimes worse), much like many of the other blockchain racing games, there really isn’t a whole lot to it.

But that should begin to change soon for Nova Rally. And the first step is the release of the new racing rewards system. This system does away with the old system of earning Shard NFTs and instead rewards the top three finishers of each race with CHARM tokens. CHARM rewards are taken from a token pool, which refills throughout the day. So, races run during times the pool contains more tokens and reap higher rewards.

CHARM is a new token for Nova Rally. But, going forward, CHARM will be the primary game token for any activity beyond racing. This includes track purchases, car modifications, manufacturer investments, weapons upgrades, and more. Players earn CHARM by finishing on the podium (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place) in races.

Along with the new reward system comes a brand new interface. The new layout provides more information to the user, and we see signs of upcoming additions, such as the Battle Pass.

The Nova Rally team is still working on squashing bugs and ironing out their new systems, but this is the first step towards a launch of a host of new features. Rental systems, weapons, upgrades, track ownership, and the re-introduction of NFT rewards are just a few items on their roadmap.

Cosmetic Sale

Nova Rally is also working on one of its biggest features — 3D races. And unlike the rather static race replays we see in other games, Nova Rally replays will include dynamic cameras, zooming in on the action, and hopefully in the near future, weapons, for that true Death Race feeling!

And what’s better than seeing your cars and drivers in 3D action? Being able to customize them of course! And that begins with an upcoming Cosmetics sale. The sale opens on September 1st, 2022, at 7 pm UTC. This sale includes special Character Statues, Car Decals, Emotes, and musical Tapes.

Statue NFTs provide owners with an airdrop of cosmetic character skins, while Decals let players customize their Cars. Both types of packs have a chance to contain special drops. For the Statues, some packs contain rare, metallic versions (which also provide a metallic skin), while some Decal packs contain full car wraps to make your Car really stand out!

Emotes will be equipable items, that trigger during certain moments during the race. Music Tapes can be set to play when you win a race, and they also passively generate Boost tokens, used to make Boost NFTs.

Nova Rally is a racing simulation game built on the Wax blockchain. Players choose a car and two drivers, enter them into a race against other players, and then wait to see the race results. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers of each race

Players use a token called SNAKEOIL to enter races. Earn SNAKOIL simply by owning any Nova Rally NFTs. No action required on your part, aside from visiting the Nova Rally website every once in a while and clicking the claim button. And if you don’t want to race, you can sell the SNAKEOIL token on the Alcor Exchange as passive income.

Racing in Nova Rally

There are four Leagues of races: Rookie, Intermediate, Veteran, and Master. All of the Nova Rally NFTs begin the game as Rookie level cards, and gain experience for winning. Once an NFT reaches ten wins, they can promote to the Intermediate League, and begin generating a new type of token called Snake Gas. The entry fees for the Intermediate League require Snake Gas rather than Snake Oil. In order to promote a Nova Rally NFT, you must burn three NFTs of the same type, one of which has enough experience for promotion.

Racing in the Intermediate League requires three promoted NFTs (one car and two drivers). And so it continues on up through Master League. Each higher League requiring a certain number of wins in the lower tier, promoted drivers and cars, and the appropriate gas tokens generated by those promoted NFTs.

Players win Shadow Shards from races. Players combine these Shards to create car and driver NFTs. Perhaps to replace those who did not survive the Death Rally!

Death Rally

Not for the faint of heart, the Death Rally race runs once a day. Anyone and everyone may enter. But, as the race’s name might suggest, there will be some death involved. Anyone who does not finish in the top 5%, will have their driver NFTs burned. That’s right, 95% of the players who enter the Death Rally permanently lose two driver NFTs!

Their cars are flagged as damaged and cannot be used in a race until repaired, which costs 100,000 SNAKOIL.

The winner of the Death Rally receives a special trophy NFT, a Driver’s Manual NFT, and an invite into the Nova Rally championship race at the end of the season. The Driver’s Manual can be used to promote an NFT without having to burn other cards.

Additional Partnerships

Nova Rally partnered with several other projects on the Wax blockchain to provide an additional passive income source. This time, in the form of a token called BOOST. BOOST provides a one-time bonus in a race, though it also comes with a chance of backfiring.

Players who own NFTs from Oliveland, Promo Planet, and Dark Country (lands), may claim their BOOST at any time on the Nova Rally website.

Nova Rally is a collectible, NFT, simulation, racing game built on the WAX blockchain. It joins the ever growing list of NFT staking games. Owners of Nova Rally NFTs will be able to collect Snake Oil, the in-game currency, simply by holding onto ‘snakeable’ NFTs and triggering the claim routine on a daily basis. How do I play Nova Rally?

Nova Rally is a racing simulation game on the WAX blockchain. NFTs for the game consist of cars and drivers. Players collect the game NFTs and use them to accumulate Snake Oil. Then, paying a fuel/entrance fee, players submit combinations of cars and drivers into competitive races. Players compete against each other to find the best combinations and finish in a top 3 position. The winner of each race receives a Shadow Shard, which can be used to upgrade drivers and cars.

The cars and drivers selected for each race play a role in determining the winner. However, the secret formulas which calculate the outcomes will change with each new Season. The game runs in a series of Seasons. Each season ends with four races called the Nova Rally Championship. Players will receive boosts and rewards for winning races. Some of those boosts will increase the winners’ staking power!

The road ahead

Nova Rally plans to have several leagues, with players gaining access to those leagues by leveling up their cards via Drivers Manuals. Players finishing in the top 1-5% of each race receive Drivers Manuals. The higher leagues will require different tokens to enter.

The game is in a very early development stage but promises many interesting features such as player-owned racetracks, head-to-head races, and perma-death for losing drivers! NFTs will stake for their full value once the racing game is released.

Pack sales have ended, but you can pick up cars, drivers, and even unopened packs on the secondary markets.
