Mobox finished up their alpha playtests for their new MOHome feature and officially launched it on December 21st, 2022. This feature adds a new play and earn opportunity as all MOHome builders share in a regular distribution of MBOX tokens based on the Prosperity rating of their property!

Running on the Binance Chain, Mobox originally started as a defi platform with NFT creatures as ‘miners’ and a couple of simple, mobile style games in development. Since then they have expanded into a virtual world, the MOMOverse, and began adding features and integrating the rest of their platform together. Their latest feature addition, MOHomes, just finished alpha testing and is now available to the general public.

MOHome is a farming game within the larger MOMOVerse. Players grow crops on their plot of land and they can also decorate it with various cosmetic features. By constructing and upgrading various buildings and features of their MOHome, players increase the Prosperity rating of their MOHome. Players may need to clear debris from their land plot to make room for construction.

More About MOHomes?

MOHomes are really more of a village. A sort of game within the game of MOMOverse. At the center is a Town Hall. Players with Town Halls built begin to receive passive income in the form of MBOX tokens.

Players construct and upgrade various buildings in their MOHome. Each building has a specific effect, and also increases the Prosperity rating of your Home. The higher the Prosperity rating, the more MBOX income the Town Hall receives. There are eight buildings available in all.

Players can choose from four different civilization types. Every Civilization has a different set of resource materials that they use for construction. The Civilizations available for launch are Tech Fantasy, Barbarian Tribe, Steam Punk, and Middle Ages, each with a distinct visual style.

But in addition to the utility buildings, there will also be a number of decorations. Decorations include things such as flowers, trees, and statues. Players can receive a small amount of Prosperity from decorations, but they are mostly for visual appearance only.

Players trade the fruit they grow with Deep Space Traders and also complete various MOHome related, daily Tasks. In addition, MOHome also offers a PvP option. By building a Lighthouse, players can try to raid other players and steal a portion of their crops!

Players can access the MOMOverse and their MOHome through the Mobox website. You can also read more about the MOHome feature in this article.

Into the MOMOverse

MOHomes are just a part of the larger MOMOverse. In the MOMOverse, players mine the basic resources with their MOMOs, and then use those to craft more complex items. Players need these secondary items for construction in their MOHomes. Luckily, there is an in-game market where players can buy and sell all the resources. All purchases and construction fees are paid for with MBOX tokens.

The MOMOverse is free to play. Players can wander around the world, gather items from the ground, and engage in crafting. And while it is possible to bootstrap yourself up from nothing, to really engage in the play and earn side of the MOMOverse, you will want to own some MOMOs and invest in some MBOX tokens.

Christmas Merge and Leaderboard Event

To celebrate the launch of MOHome, Mobox is also hosting a MOMO Xmas Merge Event. MOMOs of Rare or Epic rarity can be merged together to level up the first selected MOMO. This merging is only available until the end of the event (January 20th, 2023, 4:00 UTC).

There will also be daily leaderboards for crafting, trading, and construction. Calculated every 24 hours, the top 100 crafters share a pool of 40,000 MEC tokens. The top 100 traders share 20,000 MEC tokens, leaving a larger pool of 1.2M DEc awarded to the top 300 homes with the highest Prosperity rating at the end of the event on January 20th, 2023, 8am UTC.

MOHome, a part of the MOMOverse built by Mobox, enters into alpha phase 2. The last phase before the official release of the MOHome feature, this alpha introduces two new buildings, the addition of Orchards, and trading with Deep Space Caravans!

On December 8th, Mobox launched alpha test, phase 2, of their MOHome. Part of the larger MOMOverse, MOHome has a Stardew Valley feel, as players can build, decorate, and clear land for growing crops. Alpha phase 2 adds the last buildings as MOHome prepares for their official release later this month.

What’s New in Phase 2?

The first new building, the Energy Tower, promotes and encourages cooperation among the MOMOverse residents. The Energy Tower features two energy bars. The first one is filled from friends charging your Tower, while the second fills by charging the Towers of other players. When both energy bars are full, the player receives a two hour prosperity boost.

Orchard planting

Orchards also benefit from helpful friends. Players use Plans and crafted materials to plant fruits. Higher rated plans yield more fruit. Orchards can also be upgraded to open additional planting areas. Friends can help with watering and insect control in the Orchard, though each individual can only help once every five minutes.

Those who are feeling more aggressive can choose to build a Lighthouse. Using a Lighthouse, players can try to loot unharvested fruit from another player’s Orchard! Different types of crops and Orchard structures help protect against this thievery.

And then we have the Deep Space Caravans. Players can visit the commercial airport to trade their goods. Every 24 hours, the D.S.C. picks three random fruits that it wants. Each trade of those fruits gains Prestige for the player, earning rewards at certain milestones. The Prestige meter for these rewards resets when the Caravan leaves.

Alpha phase 2 also introduces tasks players can complete related to these new features such as planting fruit, looting fruit, and helping other players. Completing these tasks earns prestige points as well. MOHome builders can earn MBOX tokens daily based on the prestige level of their home.

Mobox plans to end this second alpha phase on December 21st, and officially launch the MOHome feature later that same day.

Mobox continues to build their MOMOverse, now preparing for an alpha test of their new MOHome feature. A combination base building, home decorating, and PvP game, MOHome offers rewards for players with high Prosperity ratings for their Home.

The MOMOverse already features a number of activities including resource mining and crafting. Soon, players will be able to find other uses for their game resources by constructing their very own MOHome!

There are also several Halloween events happening in MOMOverse. Three different leaderboards, one for MOHome construction, one for crafting, and one for MOMO boxing. The top players earn rewards in the form of MEC tokens.

MOHomes will also be featured in some sort of PvP game. Though we don’t have details on how it works, players will be able to raid other players’ homes.

MOHome Alpha

But we should learn more soon. Mobox plans to open a 30 day alpha test for the MOHome feature. All MOHomes will reset at the end of the alpha, which will run in two phases.

The first phase offers players the chance to construct and upgrade buildings and earn MBOX tokens based on their Prosperity.

The second phase introduces all the other features including PvP in the form of looting other player’s homes.

Stay tuned to their Twitter for the opening announcement for the MOHome Alpha.

MOMOVerse Phase 3

The overarching MOMOverse is moving in to what the team calls Phase 3. Phase 3 will feature Guilds and MOMOverse Land.

Anyone can spend some MBOX tokens to create a Guild and then invite other players to join. There will be Guild specific chat channels, special Guild buildings, and some sort of reward pool.

In MOMOverse Land, players and guilds explore and claim territory. This will create a selection of player-run kingdoms of a sort, with players able to set the rules on the land they control. We wait for more information on this PvP addition.

MOMOverse is available via the Mobox webpage and also has its own app.

MOBOX continues to expand their social hub / gameification world, MOMOverse, by adding daily quests for players. Now players can earn in-game rewards for completing simple tasks.

Released earlier this year, MOMOverse continues to sprout new features, encouraging players to spend time in their virtual world. The latest, Daily Tasks, will likely generate some interest. Every day, players receive a new, random selection of Tasks. Completing a Task rewards the player with a Treasure Map. Follow the map to find a reward!

MOMOverse Daily Tasks

MOMOverse daily tasks

Daily Tasks in the MOMOverse include such things as catching MOMOs, harvesting materials, playing games, and other in-world activities. Players receive Treasure Maps as rewards. Use a map to help to locate a buried treasure, which may contain resources or MOBalls (used to capture wild MOMOs)!

Both Tasks and rewards reset at 8am UTC every day, so be sure to claim your rewards before then! The in-game Task interface displays a handy countdown timer on the bottom of the window.

To participate in Daily Tasks, players must own a MOBOX Avatar. For those who missed the initial drop, Avatars can be purchased here. The current floor is just under $8 USD. There are also other activities such as the Survivor game and giveaways on Binance that require Avatars. So if you plan on spending time in the MOMOverse, you might want to pick one up.

What is MOBOX?

MOBOX is a gaming platform running on the Binance Chain that includes some decentralized finance elements. Though it began as a defi system, MOBOX has developed several, mobile-style games, and recently launched their virtual world called MOMOverse.

Though obviously designed with mobile platforms in mind, the games can be played on desktop as well. They are all very casual, with rewards to the top players Most of the games provide opportunities for quicker advancement by spending MBOX tokens.

In addition to the games. Owners of MBOX tokens can stake them on the site for a steady return. Players can also enter lotteries for boxes that contain MOMOs or MEC tokens (used to upgrade MOMOs). MOMOs can be staked to earn even more MBOX. It’s a system that encourages feeding earnings back into it, but owners can cash out at any time. Tokens accumulate throughout the day.

MOMOverse is a combination social hub, defi interface, and crafting game. The eventual goal seems to be enabling access to the entire MOBOX ecosystem through the MOMOverse. Future plans include home ownership and decoration. MOMOverse is available via web browser as well as on Android devices.

Running from April 15th through April 28th, 2022, the MOMOverse Open Beta Test allows players a chance to experience the MOMOverse, participate in competitions, and maybe earn some MBOX along the way. The beta is open to everyone.

The MOMOverse is an angled, top-down view, multiplayer world. Around the map are entrances to the Mines, a gaming hub, and a central square. This is the next big phase for MOBOX. When fully built out, the MOMOverse will be a central hub for all things related to the MOBOX ecosystem.

What’s in the MOMOverse?

For now, it’s pretty basic. Players can take taxis between the areas, or walk around on their own.

Players can also gather items from the ground. These appear randomly. Gathered items aren’t used for anything, but they do give you Collection points. There is a daily Collection leaderboard and an ongoing Collection leaderboard. Players earn points from gathering and from Combining Resources. The top 100 from the daily leaderboard receive MBOX payouts every day. Players who own MOBOX Avatars receive a bonus to their points when collecting. The game can be laggy, so moving and gathering is a little tricky at times. Usually if you just pause for a moment the game will catch up with your actual location in the MOMOverse.

MOMOverse Mining
mine for new resources

MOMO owners have access to the new mines. There are five mines, each harvesting one of the new resources — feather, leather, pearl, ore, and gold. Harvesting resources from these Mines requires importing and staking your MOMOs. Then, these Resources can combine into rarer items called Materials.

Combining is a bit more complicated. Players can choose for a Normal Combine, which is free, but does not advance the player’s Mastery Level and takes longer to finish. Advanced Combines cost MBOX tokens, but they do increase Mastery Levels. Higher Mastery Levels result in greater chances of creating higher rarity Materials and also increases the number of Materials you can combine.

MOMOverse Combining
combine Resources into Materials for fun and profit

Is there more to the MOMOverse?

What we have now is just the base layer for the MOMOverse. Eventually, the MOMOverse will be a central hub for everything MOMO, from the mining to the games to the social hubs. The team plans to release several updates to the beta over the coming weeks. This includes player housing, MOMO Boxing, MOGuilds, and MOLand.

Player housing allows players to spend MBOX to change the look of their home and increase it’s passive MBOX output. In a PvP twist, other players can raid your home and steal some of the accumulated MBOX, encouraging everyone to keep a close eye on their home!

MOMO Boxing is the process of catching wild MOMOs. Players spend MBOX to purchase MOBalls and then use those to catch wild MOMOs. Each MOBall has ten uses. If you miss catching the MOMO, the escaped MOMO will drop a fragment. Combine fragments to receive a MOMO. MOMOs of all rarities could appear, including Legendaries!

For MOLand, players gather together in MOGuilds to fight for control of territory. We don’t have any hard dates on when these features might be released.

At the end of the Beta, the market will be closed and all tokens and resources returned to their owners. Then, all of the resources and materials in everyone’s packs will be burned, and players will be airdropped MBOX tokens of equal value. All progress from the beta is wiped and the team prepares for the next release phase.

Keep an eye on the official MOBOX Discord and Twitter for special events during the beta.

Not long ago we received the first details about the upcoming MoMoverse. Now we have some information about another important aspect of the Mobox metaverse, Avatars! And those staking on MOBOX with veMBOX can receive a special airdrop of Avatar crates.

MOBOX announces their plans for Avatars to inhabit their MoMoverse. And along with that, an airdrop to those with a significant amount of stake in MOBOX’s defi system.

Avatar Airdrop

MOBOX veMBOX staking UI
stake MBOX for veMBOX

The airdrop snapshot happens on April 5th 2022, at 8am UTC. Each address on the BNB chain with veMBOX staked to “Long”, receives up to three Avatar chests. veMBOX is basically a way of enhancing your APY when staking on the MOBOX platform. By agreeing to lock up MBOX tokens, you receive a bonus to the weight of your contribution to the staking pool. veMBOX doesnt actually exist as a token. The MBOX staked as veMBOX can’t be retrieved until the lockup period ends.

Unfortunately, this initial airdrop is not cheap. In order to receive an Avatar chest, you must have at least 18,000 veMBOX staked. How this translates to MBOX varies based on the length of the lockup period. But, on the longest period, three years, you receive a 15-1 return ratio for each MBOX. So 18,000 veMBOX would require staking 1200 MBOX for three years (or more MBOX for less time). At current prices that’s about a $3300 investment. And that’s just for one chest! Admittedly, the chests are free. And if you’re already locking up funds into the MBOX defi system then it’s a nice bonus. The returns on staking are still running up to 120%.

For the bigger investors, 32,001 to 90,000 veMBOX nets two Avatar chests, while those with over 90,000 receive three. The Avatar chests will be airdropped after the MOMOverse and the Avatar smart contract are launched. Avatar chests cannot be sold, though the Avatars can.

MOBOX Avatars

MOBOX Avatar
sample MOBOX Avatar

MOBOX Avatars are ERC-721 NFTs. Each address can hold as many asa they want. Avatars have 15 property attributes that are fixed when minting. This is much like the typical generative projects that are all over the blockchains these days. Each property comes in varying rarities, and each Avatar an overall rarity rating. Hopefully we’ll see some more details soon about the possible Avatar traits.

In addition, Avatars have eight special slots. These seem to be equipment slots — allowing your Avatar to wear clothing and hold items that display in-game.

Players will also have the option of stuffing their Avatar back into a chest for a fee in MBOX tokens. When the chest is opened, a new Avatar is minted! That could turn out to be a very interesting feature, depending on the cost.

MOBOX Avatars are built for use in the upcoming MOMOverse. Players will be able to purchase Avatar chests with MBOX token in the MOMOverse.

Since starting in early 2021 as a gameified DeFi system with a couple of very simple games to play, MOBOX has expanded their offerings to include three full games, with another in testing. Now, following in the footsteps of nearly every project on the blockchain these days, MOBOX announces their upcoming virtual world, Momoverse.

The MOMOverse is the upcoming central hub for a new system of interconnected apps. These include a new NFT marketplace, a network of social games, a museum for showing off your NFTs, and player Homes and crafting — just to start. The team has big expansion plans and MOMOs, NFT creatures with the ability to mine for tokens, will have a vital part in the MOMOverse economy.

New Mining Options for MOMO

MOMO are little box-shaped creatures that are NFTs which also earn MBOX tokens when staked in the Mining Camp. With the launch of MOMOverse, MOMOs will have several new mining options to choose from. These include Bird Camp. Beast Camp, Fish Camp, Monster Camp, and Epic Camp. Each Camp can only be mined by the corresponding MOMO type. The camps produce new types of resources. Respectively, Feathers, Leather, Pearls, Ore, and Gold. Higher quality MOMOs produce resources at a higher rate.

MOMOverse image

Once claimed, resources can be converted into building materials through crafting. This is divided into Normal and Advanced Synthesis. Advanced Synthesis requires a fee of MBOX tokens. But in return, the material production completes more quickly and the player increases their Mastery Level when crafting. Normal Synthesis just uses resources, but takes longer and doesn’t offer any experience gains. Higher Mastery Levels leads to increased chance of synthesizing higher quality materials and also allows for creation of higher level building materials.

All resources and building materials may be sold on the in-game market, providing opportunities for dedicated crafters to earn from their services. The in-game market will use the MBOX token as the main currency and includes a 5% on sell orders (purchase orders have 0% fees).

Building a Home

MOMOverse image

So what’s the point of all these new resources and materials? Building of course. Each player avatar can create a home with a number of different buildings. The Town Hall mints MBOX tokens based on the Home’s prosperity level. These can be claimed once every 12 hours. However, there is a window where other players can attack your Home and try to steal your tokens! Of course, you could do the same to them. Launching attacks requires an Airship. Or if you prefer to defend, then perhaps building up a mighty Lighthouse (reduces MBOX tokens stolen) would be a better option. There is also a Craft House and a Dockyard for your Airships.

These buildings can be leveled up and decorated to change their appearance. Players can visit friends’ Homes. The MMOverse also includes a Social Hub where players can gather, complete tasks, and view statues of the top ranked players of the day.

Second Phase

The Mobox team also released a few details about their planned second phase for the MMOverse. This includes a world map with PvP for territory control. It’s not apparent what use land will be, but I imagine there will be some use case beyond bragging rights.

MOMOverse phase 2 brings a ‘MOBOXer Shop’, allowing third parties to create and release tools and mods for the MOMOverse. There will be an approval system involved for these additions, but content creators will receive royalties from their contributions. It’s always great to see game companies acknowledge the value modders bring to games, and find a way to encourage and support that community!

Mobox began small, as a simple decentralized finance (defi) site with rewards in the form of cutesy NFTs that you could stake to earn more MBOX tokens. Since then they have expanded tremendously, adding several new mobile-oriented games centered around their MoMo NFTs and streamlining their defi options. But not content to stop there, Mobox just announced the first phase of the Mobox MoMoverse! Running on the Binance ecosystem, registrations began on November 30th, 2021 for their avatar-based, play to earn, daily quest system.

In the MoMoverse, the players’ avatars and MoMo companions function as a personal node on the ‘MOBOXchain’ network. The MoboxChain will be an NFT POS blockchain network, that is controlled and governed by the game assets players own! The Mobox NFTs act as a personal node on the blockchain, allowing for lightning fast transactions. The MoboxChain has not yet launched. Until it does, the Mobox platform will continue running on the Binance Smart Chain.

How do I get started?

Until then, players access the MoMoverse through the official Binance app. Once you’re in the app, drag down from the homepage to access the Marketplace and click on the Mobox logo to enter the MoMoverse! After creationg a MoMoverse account, each player receives a unique avatar representative. Players can mine MBOX with their avatar and stake MBOX for mystery boxes.

Mystery boxes contain MoMos which increase your hashpower, allowing you to mine even more MBOX tokens! In addition, to celebrate the launch, Mobox is hosting a giveaway of 5000 Mystery Boxes! Each referral to the MoMoverse provides one ticket and the drawing will be held on December 6th, 2021. December 6th also marks the launch of the MoMoWorld Alpha. During alpha players will be able to test the MoMoWorld game and receive MBOX rewards. Once the open Alpha is complete, the official version will launch, including an NFT marketplace. The app lists two other games, Block Brawler and Chainz Arena, but it’s unclear when these two games will be available.

What is Mobox?

Mobox is a play to earn gaming ecosystem with a bit of decentralized finance on the side. The ecosystem offers several free to play games, but the main action requires owning one or more MoMo NFTs. MoMos are cute, box-shaped critters that can assist you in play to earn games like Token Master and Block Brawler. But they can also be put to work, mining MBOX tokens. Each MoMo has a hashpower that determines how much MBOX it can mine each day. With various upgrade options via MoMo merging and adding special gems, players can increase the hashpower of their MoMos and thus increase their daily earnings.

Players acquire new MoMos and upgrades through an in-app lottery system, or by purchasing them on the market.

Mobox supports and runs its own internal marketplace where players can buy and sell NFTs and upgrade items. With plans to expand onto their own chain. Mobox continues to build upon an already successful platform.

Mobox supports its own, fully integrated token, MOBOX (MBOX). Players earn MBOX by staking MBOX/BNB LPs, putting MoMos to work in the mines, and playing games.
